My Journey

I’m a mum to two gorgeous girls , Grace and Eve and married to my husband and best friend, David.  As well as being a Dru Yoga teacher, I run a small soft furnishing business, Pins & Ribbons.

Growing up, I was immersed in my Mum’s love of yoga. Mum had such a calm and fun-loving personality; always happy and always smiling. She was my first yoga teacher and the inspiration I now have to help others, through my teaching.

Unlike my Mum, I however, always lived life with a level of self-induced stress. I just thought this was the way I was made. I always wanted to do everything successfully, at 100 miles per hour. I wanted to be in control and I wanted to be perfect.

As the pressures of life presented themselves, and often unfolded in a way I couldn’t control, I was at times unable to flow through these events. I felt stuck; always reflecting on what might happen; what could happen and what should have happened.

In 2006, I came face to face with my own mortality, as the result of a car accident. This became the catalyst for dealing with past events that I had never properly faced. Leaving my much loved career in the police force, I found myself with regrets and re-runs of the past, as well as having fears for the future. I was also totally ignoring what was happening in my life at that present moment.

Unwilling to accept conventional medicine as a way of recovery, I learnt the art of journalling, movement of body with yogic breathing, and the stillness of meditation. Through yoga I learnt to love myself and accept life and all it presents. Now I completely live each day to the full, surrounded by the people I love.

In 2014, whilst on holiday in Deia - a small coastal village in the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains, in Majorca - where I was surrounded by the most amazing scenery and atmosphere, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a yoga teacher.

I feel very privileged to have been on this journey and to see where it takes me next. And importantly, who I can help along the way.

What is Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if its high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Reiki treats the whole person including physical, emotional, mind, spirit, creating many beneficial effects and also encourages feelings of peace, security and well

What is Dru Yoga

Dru Yoga is a graceful and potent form of yoga, based on soft flowing movements, directed breathing and visualisation. With its foundations set firmly in ancient yogic tradition, Dru works on body, mind and spirit to rejuvenate your whole being and is suitable for anyone to practise.
